Dr Muhammad Tahir

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Tahir joined Griffin Medical Centre in early 2021. He has a background in internal medicine in tertiary care hospitals and completed his Fellowship with the RACGP in 2019. As an immigrant doctor, he understands cultural sensitivities well and connects easily with patients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. After fellowship he completed certifications in the treatment of skin cancers. He takes a bio-psycho-social approach to patient management and also treats WorkCover patients and overseas travellers. Bulk billed for all patients with a valid Medicare card.

After graduating from the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka, Dr Abeysinghe worked as a doctor in Sri Lanka for four years before arriving in Australia. Her training here was spent at both Ballarat Base and Redland Bay Hospitals as a registrar in Emergency. She then worked as a General Practitioner in the Lockyer Valley before joining Griffin Medical Centre in 2022. Bulk billed with a valid Medicare card.

Dr Peter Lawson

Dr Peter has over 40 years of experience in general practice, starting in Brisbane in 1980 after serving with the RAAF. He enjoys all aspects of General Practice, with a keen interest in Aviation and Sports Medicine, and has had professional involvement with AFL and Rugby League. Dr Peter consults patients of all age groups and is passionate about providing compassionate, holistic care. His friendly, warm personality puts patients at ease. Skin Cancer Doctor

Dr Yukman (Wes) Chan

MBBS, FRACGP, FACCS Med

Dr Wesley Chan is a General Practitioner with a focused interest in skin health and skin cancer management. He completed a biochemistry degree in Hong Kong before earning his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 2012, and is a Fellow of both the RACGP and the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery (FACCS Med). His services include comprehensive skin cancer care (skin checks, biopsies and surgical excisions), treatment of common skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis, and specialised consultations for ageing, pigmentation and skin health. Skin Doctor available Wednesdays for appointments.

Patients must have been seen at Griffin Medical Centre face-to-face in the last 12 months and be registered with MyMedicare at Griffin Medical Centre. No new patients via Telehealth. Dr Peter Michael Andrew is a fully qualified General Practitioner with Fellowship from the RACGP (2023). He graduated with honours from Monash University in 2014 and has extensive clinical experience across Melbourne and South Australia, including hospital rotations in emergency medicine, cardiology, orthopaedics and paediatrics. Outside of medicine, Dr Andrew enjoys swimming, hiking, soccer and contributing to medical education. Available for Telehealth consultations on Saturdays.
